Tabia’s Journey

Tabia with fashion stylist, Edith-Edie Henry
Tabia Kocks is an amazing 33-year-old woman with Down syndrome based in Graham, Washington. She has always carried a warm smile, a joyful spirit, and a natural presence that brightens every room she enters.
From a young age, Tabia showed a strong connection to the arts — coloring, drawing, tracing, pottery, and creative expression of all kinds. Around age 13, she developed a deep love for fashion. From magazines and YouTube to television and runway shows, she was drawn to the world of style, beauty, and self-expression.
One of Tabia’s proudest achievements was graduating from high school. She attended mainstream classes and earned her diploma from Graham-Kapowsin High School in 2013 — a milestone that reflected her perseverance, confidence, and determination.
After graduation, Tabia expressed her desire to become a model. When her first opportunity arose with a fashion agency, it quickly became clear that she was a natural. She genuinely enjoys modeling, follows direction well, and feels completely at ease in front of the camera.
Today, Tabia is a professional model with Down syndrome specializing in runway and non-verbal commercial work. She brings warmth, authenticity, emotional expression, and professionalism to every creative project.
Tabia’s journey is not only about fashion — it is about inclusion, representation, and changing perceptions. Through her work, she hopes people will see that beauty, talent, and professionalism exist in many forms.
Tabia continues to pursue modeling opportunities with purpose and pride, inviting the fashion and media industries to embrace inclusive storytelling and authentic representation.
